Frequently Asked Questions

How does Microblading work?

The required pigment is deposited into the superficial dermis of the skin with the disposable micro-blade which allows the technician to create bespoke, crisp hair strokes which look like natural eyebrow hair.

How does it differ from semi-permanent tattooing?

Micro Blading differs from conventional semi-permanent tattooing by the very fact that it is a manual procedure. When using a handheld microblade, the colour is deposited closer to the surface than when a machine is used leaving very fine and crisp hair strokes with no spilling under the skin.

Who can have microblading done?

With all semi-permanent makeup procedures, it is the practitioner’s responsibility to make sure that there are no contra-indications to treatment. If there is a medical condition the clinic doctor will be consulted prior to treatment. REMEMBER: We have your best interests in mind.

Will my Microblading come out fine?

Your technician will carry out a Symmetry Assessment.

Asymmetry is dynamic: a result of a difference in the tone of the forehead muscles and sun exposure of the skin. Micro blading will not correct dynamic asymmetries.

Please be advised that eyebrow technicians are NOT cosmetic surgeons. The realistic goal is not to create perfect symmetry, but to make a moderate improvement to enhance the facial characteristics which are already present. The technician has to follow your natural eyebrow contour.

Remember – no two eyebrows are never truly identical.

How long does the pigmentation last?

Micro Blading tends to last between 18 to 36 months and after this period of time may need a colour boost or refresh.

What to expect after Microblading?

  • The area will be sensitive for a day or two
  • Do not wash the brows for at least a week after treatment, as this would remove the pigment

  • Your therapist will advise you your after-care treatment

How much does Microblading cost?

Microblading starts from R1 500.00 which includes consultation, initial procedure, an aftercare package and a refresh colour boost at R750.00, when needed.
